We are a full-service animal hospital providing comprehensive pet healthcare services in Leonard, TX. Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. Our veterinary hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house testing for accurate diagnosis, digital x-ray, surgical suite, advanced dental equipment, and a pharmacy. We also offer complementary medicine, including acupuncture. We are committed to providing quality care at every stage of your pet's life. From routine preventive care to early detection and treatment of a wide range of conditions and diseases, we have the expertise to provide the highest standard of care for your pet. We also serve clients and pets from Leonard, Baily, Trenton and Celeste.

  • Dr. Brea Smith

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Brea Smith started with Leonard Animal Clinic in June 2018 as a Veterinarian. She is originally from Kansas, being born and raised in a small town south of Wichita. She attended the University of Kansas for her undergraduate studies before making the transition to Kansas State University to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She returned home to Wichita to work for 5 years in a multi-doctor small animal practice. She moved to Texas in 2013 where she worked another 5 years prior to joining Leonard Animal Clinic.

    Dr. Smith and her husband live in Fannin County with their 6 dogs – Charlie, Kalika, Jaxon, Lucy, Ace & Stella – and 2 cats – Ben & Barry. When not busy at work they enjoy going on adventures in their Jeep. Dr. Smith also likes to read and do yoga. In her work, Dr. Smith likes to focus on helping owners to better understand and care for their pets, especially in the areas of nutrition and behavior.

  • Dr. Stanislav

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Stanislav graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a bachelor’s in Animal Science and then in 2019 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Leonard Animal Clinic family in May of 2019. She enjoys working with both large and small animals. She is looking forward to helping you and your pets.

    When she is not working, she enjoys traveling to new places, reading, and playing with her silver Labrador Terra.

  • Donna

    Vet Technician

    Donna was born in Louisiana, raised in Mississippi and moved to Texas in 1989. She started working as a kennel hand while still in Mississippi and worked her way up to becoming a veterinary technician. Donna has over 25 years of technician experience which includes over 10 years in emergency and ICU hospitals.

    Donna and her husband, Dale, reside on a small farm just outside Blue Ridge which they share with their horses, cows, three dogs, chickens and reptiles. In her spare time, Donna loves to travel, do paper crafts, and read.

  • Ginger

    Vet Assistant

    Ginger is originally from a small town in Arkansas, and has been working with animals for over 20 years. She started out as a volunteer at a small animal and exotic veterinary practice at the age of 13, and stayed on as an employee for over 10 years.
    She graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith with a bachelor’s degree in history.

    In 2015 Ginger and her husband, Scott, relocated their family from Arkansas to Texas for Scott’s job. They wanted their two little boys to grow up with the values and experiences that farm life would provide, so they purchased a small farm outside of Leonard, TX. Here they began raising Nigerian Dwarf goats, and are now up to 18 goats who are all named after Disney characters.

    They also have 3 Great Pyrenees, Olaf, Bingo, and Stitch, an Australian Shepherd, Tink, a retired racehorse named Bo, and 2 rescue cats, Highway and Pete.

    Ginger joined the team at Leonard Animal Clinic in 2017, shortly after taking Olaf to the clinic for his first set of puppy shots.

    When Ginger is not busy with work, her kid’s athletics, or church she enjoys making handmade goat milk soaps, lotions, and bath bombs.

  • Tish

    Vet Assistant

    Tish has been a part of Leonard Animal Clinic since 2002.  She started out in the kennel and has worked her way up to being one of the most experienced veterinary assistants in the clinic.  Her favorite part of the job is when she is able to make a difference for both patient and owner.

    Tish and her husband, David, live in Commerce, TX with their 3 Great Danes and two cats.  Tish is also the proud mother of Catherine and Joseph.

    In their spare time, Tish and David like to jump on their motorcycle, enjoying the scenery and meals they stop to get along the way.

  • Ashley

    Vet Assistant

    Ashley joined Leonard Animal Clinic in October 2021 with 5 years of previous veterinary clinic experience. She has always had a love for animals since she was a little girl. She is very dedicated and passionate about the care she provides every animal.

    Ashley lives in Ravenna, TX with her 3 children, 5 dogs, 3 cats, 4 baby cows & Shetland pony. When she isn’t attending T-ball games, school activities, or rodeos; she enjoys spending time with family and friends around a bonfire or cuddled on the couch watching Netflix.

  • Hannah

    Lead Receptionist

    Hannah joined here at the clinic in 2020 as a receptionist, she is originally from Forney, TX. She now lives in Wolfe City, TX with her boyfriend Colton, her pup Cuba and their three ducks Norman, Aflac, and Earl. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the river with her friends while Cuba tags along, and cuddling up with a good book. Hannah has always had a love for animals and truly appreciates that she can connect with the parents and their pets at the clinic.

  • Natalie

    Receptionist

    Natalie joined the Clinic in October of 2021 as a receptionist, & she is originally from Merit, TX where she attended Bland High School. She also attended Paris Junior College and Texas State University, and she has her Associate’s Degree in English & History. She now lives in Leonard, TX with her Fiancé Nathan, her son River, and her dog Banjo. In her free time, she enjoys watching Supercross & Motocross, spending time with her family, lake activities, or riding SxS’s. She has always had a passion for helping animals & believes they are family. She is very excited to be a part of this team & looks forward to helping you & your pets!

  • Mari

    Receptionist + Kennel Assistant

    Mari started at the clinic in May of 2021. She went to Wolfe City High School and now goes to A&M Commerce College to be a Zoologist or an Exotic Veterinarian to specialize in Elephants. Mari loves to ride dirt bikes, reading, studying different animals, and playing with her Mini Australian Shepherd Artemis.
